Today I had the pleasure of having coffee at Dunn Brothers on East Lake Street and West River Parkway in Minneapolis. My barista, Col in, was very nice and personable. When asked about the Dunn Brothers philosophy he said for their store fast, friendly and professional service is the order of the day; and he was very friendly. When asked about coffee shop etiquette to enhance the experience Colin offered this tip. When paying for your order, place the money or credit card in the baristas hand rather than on the counter. Treat the barista like a real person; a professional who is providing a service for you. Laying your money on the counter when the hand is extended is a sign of disrespect. It’s also more efficient to place the payment in the baristas hand. When it’s placed on the counter they have to take that extra step of scraping the money or the coins/payment off of the counter into their hand before going to the next step.

Thank you Colin, and thank you Dunn Brothers.  Everyone have a wonderful day!
